Keeping everyone safe:

For you Nights Away Notification you may want to add to the ‘Special Activities’ section that all our instructors follow the Scouts adventurous activity permit scheme to supervise or lead various activities. In addition, we follow recognition schemes from a number of external organisations, includingBritish Canoeing, Royal Yachting Association (RYA) and Archery GB .

During the summer months, UV protection is essential. We encourage everyone to take this seriously and take the necessary precautions to slip on a t-shirt, slap on a hat and slop on some sun protection along with staying hydrated and in the shade where possible. Water quality is regularly monitored, however, being situated on the banks of the River Trent, we are vigilant about cleanliness. To avoid infections such at Weil's disease (leptospirosis), antibacterial hand wash is made available throughout the site

On arrival to the you will be able to meet the Assistant Campsite Warden often known as the Duty Warden for the weekend who will make themselves known to you. They all have a wealth of knowledge and experience to ensure your stay is as enjoyable as possible they will meet with you to discuss your programme for the weekend and make an introduction to your whole group at an appropriate time.
